So I just spotted this on Google News:

One Killed in Small Plane Crash in Md.
Washington Post - 35 minutes ago
Airport spokeswoman Cheryl Stewart said the Mitsubishi MU2 "high-wing" twin turbo-prop plane was on approach to Baltimore-Washington International Airport at 7:25 am when it went down.

For those who don't know, my dad now flies around in a... you guessed it... a Mitsubishi MU2. In the Washington DC area.

Talk about a heart attack. It took me a minute to realize that my Dad is currently in Europe so is unlikely to have done any flying around Baltimore today. But still, one of those "AH!" moments.

And I have no idea why they put "high-wing" in quotes. That's what it is. It's a high-wing turboprop. Strange reporter people.

So over the last couple days there's been some pretty sweet news...

Cell Processor
Ars Technica
This is the processor that Sony and IBM have designed for the PS3. Pretty nifty looking! Has more than a single processor on a single chip and different sub systems (sound, video, game AI, etc) change how many of the processors they're using based on how much processing power they need. Pretty cool.

Nintendo
Ars Technica
Okay, so I was just going to talk about how cool the Nintendo DS is. But then I went to the Big N's web page and checked out their game list...

Lots o' Nintendo Lovin'Collapse )

Display wall
Chromium
dmX
It would be very neat to get a few projectors and make something like this. Imagine Warcraft on the big screen. HDTV and beyond. DDR with a display taller than you. Sweet.

SpaceShipOne
News Article -- in particular, the picture...
SS1's webpage
Rutan can NOT make a normal looking airplane if they tried. Dang man. But he's managed to get someone nearly up to the X Prize altitude. Privatized space travel. Sweet.

The Incredibles
Official Site
"WHERE is my SUPER-SUIT, woman?!?" ~~ Samuel L. Jackson
Pixar can do no wrong. Wait. No, no, it can. But their new movie looks pretty cool. ^_^
