bish, smile

Ars Technica is a great site for commentary on technology, science, and cool electronic stuff.

Today's find (thanks to teki) is "The search for signs of Intelligent Design in the Universe". Apparently Intelligent Design people are comparing themselves to the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence.

One of the things which has drawn their attention is the SETI program, which even shares the I for Intelligence with ID. The logic is that if real scientists are looking for signs of intelligence, then ID should be indistinguishable from this sort of valid scientific effort.

Ars' article is actually a commentary on a article: "SETI and Intelligent Design". It's a great description of what SETI is looking for and why ID's arguments fall a little flat.
